About Fiction Factory
Fiction Factory make innovative, popular drama and is currently in post-production of the third series of its critically acclaimed & award winning police drama; Hinterland/Y Gwyll for BBC and S4C with international distribution partners All3media. The first series garnered several plaudits including Best Writer, Director and Cinematography awards at BAFTA Cymru 2014 and the Celtic Media Festival award for Best Drama along with nominations at the Broadcast and Golden Nymph Awards. Other accolades include the CINE Golden Eagle for best drama.
The second series has recently been nominated for four awards at BAFTA Cymru 2016, including Best Actor and Best Director.
Since 2005 Fiction Factory has produced over 150 hours of drama for BBC, ITV, C5 and S4C, earning over 100 nominations and awards, from BAFTA and Celtic Film Festival to the Rose D’or Prix Europa. Other credits include everything from fantastical gangland escapades in Y Pris (The Price) to gritty police drama A Mind to Kill; as well as surreal sitcom of Satellite City, large scale documentaries China; Cwmgiedd/Columbia:Cartref and Cymru Hywel Williams.
Principal photography has started on Gwaith/Cartref (Home/Work) series 8 in August 2016, the perennially popular, long-running high-school drama series has aired on S4C for the past 7 years.
