Sunset+Vine produces BT Sport’s football and rugby coverage
Sunset+Vine produces more independently made live football and rugby than any other company in the UK.
In the past S+V has produced live football for BBC, Channel 5, and ESPN, as well as rugby for BBC Scotland and ESPN, but the commission to produce the Barclays English Premier League and Aviva Premiership for BT Sport since 2013 is the UK’s largest output contract.
Football on BT Sport includes a Premier League match every weekend, featuring Michael Owen, Jake Humphrey, Ian Wright and Steve McManaman; Scottish Premiership; FA Cup; and Europa League games, as well as highlights, round-ups and analysis.
Rugby includes 69 live Premiership games per season as well as BT’s coverage of the new European Rugby Champions Cup. The output also includes the popular Rugby Tonight mid-week show offering rugby analysis, debate and lively entertainment, hosted by Matt Dawson, Craig Doyle, Martin Bayfield and Sarra Elgan.
Sunset+Vine has fifteen years' experience of producing live football. In that time it has produced over three hundred matches from all over Europe including Europa League, Scottish Cup, Internationals, and World Cup qualifiers, dealing with a huge variety of broadcasters, clubs and football federations. Tournament coverage includes three Confederation Cups, Africa Cup of Nations and host broadcast services for FIFA at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Alongside the key live output the football unit has many years experience producing magazine style programming for both the domestic and international market. Since 1986 S+V have produced six FIFA World Cup preview series. These programmes have been transmitted all over the world.
