About Tinopolis Cymru
The Tinopolis Wales studios sit proudly in the heart of Llanelli and a wide range of programmes are produced from here including live shows, sport, and award winning documentaries. Tinopolis Wales is the largest producer of Welsh language programming with 400 hours annually. Heno – Tonight - is a primetime live event-led magazine show and has been the backbone of S4C for more than 26 years. Live Monday to Friday at 7pm every week of the year, it has long established itself as one of the most popular and loved shows on S4C. Prynhawn Da is our live afternoon magazine show broadcast five days a week at 2pm.
We also produce the popular rallying and motorsports series Ralio, now in its 18th year and S4C’s daily live and highlights coverage of the Tour de France for the fourth year. Our biggest studio with a floor space of 6,000sq ft has been home to S4C’s long running popular music series Y Stiwdio Gefn.
Our award winning documentaries include Dwy Wraig Lloyd George, about the two wives of the Welsh former prime minister. Also, Streic y Glowyr with Adam Price – a series on the history and effects of the miners’ strike 25 years later, and Senghenydd – a documentary on Europe’s biggest mining disaster. Director Kevin Allen’s Fatti Films produced the highly acclaimed new film version of Under Milk Wood in both Welsh and English, starring Rhys Ifans. The film was Bafta’s nominated foreign language film for the Oscars in 2015. Kevin is now working on a sequel to his iconic film Twin Town, Tin Town, set in Llanelli.
