Mentorn Media Swap Council Houses For Channel 5

Mentorn Media has been commissioned by Channel 5 to produce a new six-part series, Council House Swap (w/t), set inside the dynamic world of house swapping.

This brand new Channel 5 series follows tenants in social housing who are looking to swap their homes across the UK. It will show how people are changing their lives by changing their postcode. In every episode tenants search for their ideal property, going on a series of viewings to find and hopefully agree an exchange.  And with home swapping there are no estate agents, so it is down to the tenants to do the convincing and seal the deal. It is a vital part of life for many council house tenants who bid for a better life, or simply a change in scenery, the series sets out to be a heart warming exploration into this hidden world.

Commenting on the commission, commissioning editor at Channel 5 Daniel Louw said, "Property shows can sometimes feel like ‘how the other half live’. This series takes us into an exciting but unexplored world of trading up and moving on."

Exec producer Tayte Simpson added “Now more than ever, people are taking stock and rethinking their lives, particularly when it comes to where they live. Priorities are changing, from wanting more space and moving further out, to being closer to family...or perhaps further away!  Set in the world of social housing, this series provides a fresh take on the property show”

The 6x60 series was commissioned by Daniel Louw and will be executive produced by Tayte Simpson.  Coco Maclehose will series produce the show which will air at 9pm.
