He will work alongside S+V Executive Chairman Jeff Foulser, focussing on his strengths and experience in live production and major events and helping to oversee the day to day running of the company.
In addition Tippett will continue to lead the team that will deliver the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games Host Broadcast operation.
Previously Head of Broadcast for the producer, Tippett will bring more than 25 years experience in the industry to the role. Having started his career with Sky where he oversaw the production of four Ryder Cups, he has taken on leading roles at S+V for many different projects including ESPN rugby, the Grand National and Derby coverage for the BBC, ICC cricket in Bangladesh and India and leading successful bids for the World Equestrian Games, World Rugby Sevens Series as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Commenting on the promotion, S+V Chairman Jeff Foulser said “In over 10 years with S+V David has proved himself time and again handling some of the biggest projects this company has taken on and this promotion is well deserved. I’m really looking forward to working more closely with him as we move the business forward.”
David Tippett added “I’m thrilled to be taking on this exciting new role. We’ve had to withstand an incredibly challenging period at S+V and the dedication of the staff has been crucial to seeing us through. While the current outlook is still relatively uncertain, we’re in a good position to continue our strong recovery from a difficult 2020 and I’m really looking forward to playing my part in that ongoing process and beyond. We will emerge stronger than before and build on our unrivalled reputation for creativity and innovation to deliver great coverage, shows and content for our clients. ”
Tippett takes on the role following the sad passing of John Leach last year. The industry veteran was a crucial part of the Sunset+Vine family since 1995 and is much missed by the whole team.
