Inside the Label is set to premier on US network BET.
The new 8 x 60’ docuseries will provide insight into the rise and fall of some of the most famous hip-hop labels, exploring how they helped to transform the industry and the music genre. Featured labels include Uptown Records, Grand Hustle, Loud Records, Slip-N-Slide Records, Terror Squad, Ruff Ryders, Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP) and Murder Inc.
Each episode will focus on one label and will take viewers on the journey from its inception to the present day, through never before seen archive footage and firsthand accounts from hip-hop’s most influential players, including Diddy, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Russell Simmons, Jodeci, Brett Ratner, Robin Thicke, T.I., Young Dro, Killer Mike, Steve Rifkind, RZA and Ludacris, among many others.
A. Smith & Co.’s Arthur Smith, Frank Sinton and Donny Jackson serve as executive producers on the series, alongside Chaka Zulu, Jeff Dixon and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.
