Sunset+Vine, the UK independent TV sports production and media company, part of the Tinopolis Group, has been awarded a three-year contract by the BBC for the production of the World Indoor Professional Bowls Championships.
Under the terms of the contract Sunset+Vine will produce both live coverage and highlights programming of the world championships for the corporation from 2016 to 2018. The contract is a BBC Nations Production and will be run out of Sunset+Vine’s Glasgow office.
Jeff Foulser, chairman of Sunset+Vine, commented:
“We have a long history with bowls at Sunset+Vine and have covered the Scottish Bowls Championships for BBC Scotland for many years, as well as the Lawn Bowls at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The World Indoor Professional Bowls Championships are a strong addition to our live sports event portfolio and continues the great success being experienced by our Glasgow-based operation.”
The new contract follows the announcement in July that Sunset+Vine Scotland had been awarded the production of some 50 hours of live broadcasts or highlights programming across five sports including Scottish Cup Highlights; Macaulay and Camanachd Cup Shinty Finals; Shinty/Hurling International Live; Melrose Rugby Sevens; Scottish International Bowls and the Scottish Curling Championships.
Coverage of the World Indoor Professional Bowls Championships begins on 18th Janaury 2016. The championships will be hosted at the Potters Leisure Resort In Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
