Pioneer Productions announces that it has been commissioned to produce a third series of Strangest Weather on Earth, in the US.
Pioneer Productions, one of the world’s leading global factual producers, part of the Tinopolis Group, announces today that it has been commissioned by The Weather Channel to produce a third series of Strangest Weather on Earth (8x60) in the US. Channel 4 has acquired the series as the third instalment of its World’s Weirdest Weather (8x60) series, following ratings success of series two. The recommission and sale see Pioneer retain its position as one of the UK’s biggest providers of popular factual programming – adding to its ever growing portfolio of returnable shows.

From invisible twisters and exploding boulders, to desert ice storms and a golf course infested with sharks, each episode explains the science behind some of the world’s most bizarre weather events through spectacular visuals, fascinating demonstrations and compelling footage (eyewitness accounts and UGC, CGI).
Rob Coldstream, Commissioning Editor for Specialist Factual acquired the series for Channel 4’s third series of World’s Weirdest Weather. Kirstie McLure and Yavar Abbas are Executive Producers for Pioneer Productions and the Series Producer is Romy Page.
