Firecracker Films and A. Smith & Co have both picked up nominations for the 2020 Realscreen Awards, which take place in January at the Realscreen Summit, taking place in New Orleans.
Firecracker's critically acclaimed Mums Make Porn documentary series for Channel 4 is nominated in the Reality: Constructed Reality category. Originally airing in March this year, the series followed a group of ordinary British mums with teenage children, as they researched the world of modern, free, explicit online pornography and its potential impact on the next generation. They then set about producing their own film: a film which not only works as pornography but promotes healthy attitudes towards sex and relationships, and highlights exactly how they wanted to handle the issues that matter to them most as parents, whether body image, consent, or ethnic diversity.
Nominated in the Competition: Reality Competition category is A. Smith & Co's American Ninja Warrior. Now celebrating its 11th sensational season, ANW is television's ultimate obstacle course competition, where athletes from around the United States compete to complete the gruelling obstacle courses in a bid to be named "American Ninja Warrior" - and take home the million dollar grand prize.
The Realscreen Awards take place on January 28th 2020 at the Sheraton New Orleans.
