Passion Distribution has signed an exclusive first look deal with London and Los Angeles based high end factual and factual entertainment production company Renowned Films.
The exclusive first look deal sees Passion Distribution picking up rights for The Peng Life (4 x 30’) the new Channel 4 review show starring internet sensation Elijah Quashie aka ‘The Chicken Connoisseur’. In each episode Elijah visits a new city and reviews everything it has to offer, at 2 different price points - the pocket money version, and the “peng” version – i.e. the cheapest and most expensive around. The deal also includes Renowned Films’ upcoming feature doc for Sky Arts (1 x 90’) which tells the story of the UK’s most subversive music genre - Grime.
Further titles include Top Dad and Stacey Dooley: Hate And Pride In Orlando. Stacey Dooley: Hate And Pride In Orlando (1 x 30’) follows Stacey as she explores the aftermath and impact on LGBT+ communities of one of the worst shootings in US history which took place at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando in June 2016. Top Dad (6 part short form) sees award winning actor and musician Ashley Walters, star of British crime drama Top Boy, diving into modern day fatherhood and exploring what it means to raise a family in the turbulent political landscapes of our time.
Founded in 2012, Renowned Films is an exciting young creative company which has made a big impact with its innovative and attention grabbing factual entertainment, features and documentaries, which it produces for TV and digital.
