PASSION DISTRIBUTION TAKES FLIGHT WITH SALES FOR PLANES GONE VIRAL AND LANDS OVER 160 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING IN GERMANY

Following MIPTV, Passion Distribution has pre sold new factual entertainment series Planes Gone Viral (8 x 60’) in Australia, New Zealand and Germany. Passion has also made a raft of deals in Germany, licensing over 160 hours of programming.

Network 10 in Australia, Sky in New Zealand and NTV in Germany have picked up Planes Gone Viral (8 x 60’), the primetime factual entertainment series from Pioneer Productions, that takes the world’s most shocking aircraft incidents caught on camera and reveals the science behind them.  More than 8 million people fly every single day, and armed with their smartphones, they are capturing the most dramatic moments, whether they are 30,000ft up in the air or on the ground. Planes Gone Viral features the most heart-stopping plane incidents and through interviews with aviation experts, combined with stunning visual effects unpacks the science behind these shocking moments.

In addition to Planes Gone Viral, Passion Distribution has licensed over 160 hours of programming to broadcasters in Germany from its factual entertainment, documentary and entertainment slates.

RTL has licensed a raft of programmes including All New Cold Justice season 1 & 2 (30 x 60’) and Cold Justice: Sex Crimes (10 x 60’) both produced by Magical Elves and Wolf Reality. Last Days Of Pompeii (3 x 60’) from Lambent Productions, has been acquired for RTL GEO and features Historian Dr Bettany Hughes (Genius of the Modern World, Britain’s Secret History), Archaeologist Raksha Dave (Time Team) and John Sergeant (Britain’s Secret Treasures) as they present a countdown through the final days of life in Pompeii.  Also from Lambent Productions and acquired for N-TV, Secrets Of The World’s Super Skyscrapers (2 x 60’) follows presenter Rob Bell (Engineering Giants, World’s Greatest Bridges) as he reveals the inner workings of some of the world’s most extraordinary constructions as they push the limits of engineering, technology and design to become taller than ever before. RTL has also licensed Charlie Luxton’s Homes By The Med season 1 & 2 (12 x 60’) produced by True North Productions.

Sport1 has acquired a package deal which includes the pre-sale of Japandemonium (6 x 30’) the fast-paced, action-packed series celebrating the very best and funniest clips from Japan’s iconic game shows. The series is produced by Zig Zag Productions and is due to air on ITV later in the year. The package also includes Klondike Season 4 (10 x 60' & Special: 1 x 60') from Paperny Entertainment and Find It, Fix It, Flog It season 1-2 (45 x 60’) from HCA Entertainment and Yeti Media.

ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH has acquired Make You Laugh Out Loud Season 2-4 (29 x 60’) and compilation series Funniest Ever LOLs (6 x 60’) which features the best moments from across all four series of Make You Laugh Out Loud both produced by Mentorn Media. ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH has also licensed Robot Wars season 10 (8 x 60’) produced by Mentorn Media, SJP Media and BBC Studios.
