We are thrilled to announce the next recipient of the Tinopolis BAFTA Scholarship, as part of our longstanding partnership with the awards giant.
The BAFTA Tinopolis Scholarships, supported by Tinopolis, exists to inspire creativity whilst focussing on the scholars’ professional skills, encouraging the students to make the business choices which will help them turn their creativity into a successful career.
Our 2022 scholar, Jess Morris, has been awarded support for an MA degree in Post-Production for Film and TV at Solent University, Southampton.
Jess grew up in Pontypridd, South Wales, and from a young age showed an interest in the creative arts. A keen writer, this progressed into Jess studying a bachelor’s degree in Scriptwriting. However, it was during that time that Jess developed a passion for video editing, posting regularly to accounts on YouTube and Instagram, racking up over 4 million views to date.
For the past 15 months, Jess has worked for the NHS as part of a COVID testing team. The pandemic highlighted for Jess the unpredictability of the future and that she needed to commit to reaching her goals now, earning herself a place at Solent University.
Jess Morris, 2022 BAFTA Tinopolis Scholar, added: “Being awarded this scholarship is not only going to change my life by allowing me to do a Masters in a subject I adore and giving me once in a lifetime mentoring opportunity, but it has also done wonders for my self-confidence as gaining this opportunity wasn’t something I thought possible. I know you don’t have to pay back a scholarship, but I will forever be in debt to BAFTA for giving me this support to progress my career.”
